Conservation Day

Dear Parents/Guardians of 5th Grade Students:

On Tuesday, May 2, the 5th grade class will participate in the NRD Conservation Day at the Assumption Arena and Finnegan Park from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the school day. (We will begin class at school at 8:00 a.m. as usual.) Students will rotate through stations on water, wildlife, soil, weeds, using a GPS, and the like. Students will need to wear jeans or other suitable pants or shorts and tennis shoes. Students are advised to dress in layers and wear sunscreen. Each student will need to bring a nutritious sack lunch as we will not be leaving the arena for lunch. If your child is not able to bring a sack lunch, please have him/her let us know by Thursday, April 27, and we will order a sack lunch for him/her from the kitchen for that day. Your child’s lunch account will be charged the same as if he/she was receiving a normal school lunch. All of the students will return to school after the activities. They will be dismissed at the end of the school day at 3:25 p.m.

If you have any questions, please call one of us teachers at 432-0708.

Sincerely,

5th Grade Teachers

Study Sheets

Study sheets will not be sent home for the remainder of the school year. The next several weeks will include TDA practice, spring test preparation and practices, various no school days and other activities that will interrupt the day-to-day reading curriculum which would impact the effectiveness of the study sheets. Our reading lessons will continue, although sporadic at times. The same study materials will be made available on ConnectEd and this blog, so keep up the great study habits! Students, fourth quarter can feel like a whirlwind with all of the different activities and events, so please keep track of what's going on and ask questions if you're ever unsure.
